在Cr，Er:YSGG晶體中，Cr3+取代Ga3+或Sc3+，Y3+取代Er3+，具有尺寸大、光學(xué)損傷小、光學(xué)質(zhì)量高、激光閾值低等優(yōu)點。激光晶體的泵浦通常采用閃光燈或激光二極管，970nm激光二極管被認(rèn)為是實現(xiàn)2790nm Er，Cr:YSGG激光泵浦的首選，它可以直接將Er3+激發(fā)到其激光上能級，效率高，能耗低。目前，為了實現(xiàn)脈沖激光輸出，人們采用了多種方法來切換Q（如聲光、電光、FTIR）。由于激光波長的特殊性，這種激光器廣泛應(yīng)用于醫(yī)學(xué)、科學(xué)研究、材料加工、軍事等領(lǐng)域。
